Design & Build
Virtuoso represents Fono Acustica’s most ambitious approach to conductor metallurgy, dielectric design and mechanical-energy control. Solid-core conductors are drawn from the company’s proprietary silver-and-gold alloy and routed through oversized Teflon tubes, creating an air-spaced dielectric that minimizes contact between the conductor and insulation.
The insulated conductors are gathered within shielding and loose silicone tubing, allowing internal vibrational energy to dissipate without tightly constraining the cable. A cotton-blend outer covering incorporates conductive filaments, providing additional shielding while reducing the accumulation of static electricity.
Speaker and power-cable conductors are individually wrapped by hand with carbon-fibre filaments to help control the higher levels of mechanical energy associated with loudspeakers and the AC supply.
Virtuoso connectors use carefully tuned, low-mass bodies based on premium contact hardware. The speaker cables feature distinctive hinged spades machined from solid blocks of Fono Acustica’s silver-and-gold alloy, allowing the cable to be positioned without compromising the integrity of the connection.
System Pairing
Virtuoso is designed for statement-level audio systems capable of revealing the smallest changes in conductor material, dielectric behaviour and mechanical resonance. The collection can connect digital and analogue sources, preamplifiers, power amplifiers and loudspeakers while maintaining a consistent design philosophy throughout the signal path.
The cables are substantial but comparatively flexible for their diameter. Their hinged speaker spades make installation easier where loudspeaker binding posts are positioned at challenging angles. Sufficient clearance should nevertheless be allowed behind components for the large connector bodies and natural bend radius of the cable.
