Akira

The TIDAL Akira brings the uncompromising philosophy of the legendary La Assoluta into a more refined and approachable design. A true statement loudspeaker, it combines TIDAL’s most advanced technologies with meticulous craftsmanship and an uncompromising pursuit of musical realism. Its cabinet is constructed from TIRALIT™, TIDAL’s proprietary 42 mm multi-layer cabinet material. Combining exceptional structural rigidity with advanced resonance absorption, TIRALIT™ provides an exceptionally stable foundation for the drivers while allowing TIDAL’s signature piano lacquer and hand-selected veneer finishes to be applied directly to the cabinet. At the top of the Akira is TIDAL’s 30 mm, 1-carat pure diamond tweeter, developed from the same technology used in the La Assoluta. Housed in a massive polished stainless-steel structure, it delivers extraordinary resolution, openness, and control. The same diamond tweeter technology is also used in the Bugatti Chiron. The Akira’s exclusive 80 mm pure diamond midrange driver, developed through TIDAL’s collaboration with Accuton, combines extremely low moving mass with exceptional rigidity and thermal conductivity. Its carefully optimized diameter and 7 mm excursion provide remarkable off-axis dispersion, speed, and low distortion throughout the midrange. Three custom-designed BCS woofers operate within the Akira’s large internal bass chamber. Their 3D-shaped honeycomb diaphragms, precisely matched motor systems, and CNC-machined baskets deliver deep, fast, and highly controlled bass with minimal compression. Together, the three woofers combine their surface area at the lowest frequencies, while operating at individually optimized upper limits for seamless integration. Five long-excursion passive radiators on the rear further extend and control the deepest bass frequencies without mechanical noise. Together with the three front woofers, they distribute bass energy through multiple sources, helping to create exceptionally even and room-friendly low-frequency reproduction. At the heart of the Akira is a TIDAL bespoke crossover, housed in a hermetically isolated chamber. Custom-built pure copper foil capacitors, precision coils, and silver-carbon resistors are selected without compromise, with every component evaluated for its specific role in preserving the integrity of the musical signal. The Akira’s unique pure-silver binding posts use a fiber-reinforced polymer construction designed to minimize inductive electromagnetic effects. Pure silver conductors provide exceptionally low resistance and preserve the integrity of the incoming signal. Every detail is engineered with the same attention to precision. The polished stainless-steel driver rings securely clamp the drivers to the TIRALIT™ cabinet while maintaining a seamless transition between the diaphragm and cabinet. The Akira can be operated in single-amplifier mode through its sophisticated internal crossover, with electrical grounding available as an option. The loudspeaker is supported by four massive stainless-steel trigger bars, each precision-machined from a solid block of high-grade stainless steel and hand-polished to a high-gloss finish. Combined with the substantial aluminum base plate, the complete foundation weighs approximately 40 kg / 88 lbs., providing exceptional stability and a solid platform for the most delicate musical information.
