Design & Build

The HB-G1 expands Kiso Acoustic’s instrument-inspired cabinet philosophy into its first floorstanding loudspeaker. Its upper enclosure is handcrafted from solid mahogany by Takamine Gakki and houses a custom-tuned 100 mm Peerless mid-bass driver together with a 26 mm Scan-Speak beryllium-dome tweeter.

A newly developed sealed bass system contains four additional 100 mm Peerless drivers within a dual-layer carbon-steel enclosure. The steel structure uses material related to Kiso Acoustic’s Shizuka equipment platforms and incorporates a shaped rear section to reduce standing waves while providing the internal volume required for low-frequency reproduction.

Each speaker is partnered with a separate crossover enclosure containing premium Mundorf components. Moving the network outside the loudspeaker cabinet permits optimized component placement and protects the circuit from internal vibration and magnetic interference.

System Pairing

With 86 dB sensitivity and a nominal four-ohm impedance, the HB-G1 should be partnered with a high-quality amplifier capable of delivering stable current into lower-impedance loudspeaker loads.

Its compact floorstanding proportions suit both dedicated listening rooms and refined living spaces. The combination of fast small-diameter woofers and a wide-bandwidth beryllium tweeter is designed for systems requiring precise transient response, tonal continuity and full-range musical scale.
