Design & Build
The DreamPlay X expresses Kalista’s unmistakable design language through a meticulously engineered combination of aluminium, acrylate and stainless steel. Its mechanically isolated disc mechanism, substantial construction and separate Elektra power supply are designed to minimize vibration and electrical interference.
Electronic boards are hand-soldered, and each unit is assembled by Métronome Technologie’s technicians in France. A responsive circular touchscreen provides intuitive control while preserving the sculptural simplicity of the chassis.
System Pairing
Designed as a reference digital source for an external D/A converter, the DreamPlay X is the dedicated transport and streaming partner for the Kalista Mantax. Their proprietary I²S connection carries PCM up to 384 kHz/32-bit and native DSD256 directly to the converter.
The DreamPlay X can also be partnered with other high-quality DACs through its AES/EBU and S/PDIF outputs.
