Reference Turntable
The Thales Reference is a precision turntable built around a patented mechanical centrifugal governor. By balancing drive and braking forces mechanically, the system minimizes the need for real-time speed correction during playback, delivering exceptionally precise timing. A quartz-referenced electronic circuit maintains the long-term average speed, while the mechanical governor preserves speed stability without continuously correcting the platter. An integrated battery power supply further isolates the turntable from the mains during operation.
