Design & Build

POWERb STEREO uses Karan’s fully complementary, symmetrical and differential signal architecture with no global feedback. Its amplification stages are DC-coupled, avoiding capacitors in the direct audio path, while proprietary servo circuits maintain safe and stable DC conditions.

Two independent 1,500 VA low-noise toroidal transformers and a 180,000 µF custom capacitor bank provide the current reserves required for fast musical transients and loudspeakers with difficult impedance curves. Dedicated filtration and regulation stages isolate the audio, protection and control circuits.

The substantial aluminium chassis provides mechanical stability, heat dissipation and shielding from radio-frequency and electromagnetic interference. Cardas Audio pure-copper internal wiring and Critical Mass Systems isolation feet are fitted as standard.

System Pairing

With output increasing from 450 watts per channel into 8 ohms to 1,350 watts per channel into 2 ohms, POWERb STEREO can drive a wide range of high-performance loudspeakers, including designs with low sensitivity or significant impedance variations.

Balanced XLR connection is recommended for a fully differential system and provides the natural pairing with Karan’s LINEa or LINEb preamplifiers. Unbalanced RCA sources can also be used with the supplied XLR shorting plugs installed as directed.
